Our Kids

For the girls and boys who live here, this is a home. They are treated as integral members of a large family, working cooperatively, cleaning and maintaining the living area, developing skills and responsibilities so that one day, when they leave they are able to become involved citizens, business professionals and good parents.

How Many?
At any given time, there are between 50 and 80 children here. Right now we have 54. At the present time, that is all we have room for. In the future, we hope to be able to meet the needs of many more children.

Policies
Boys and Girls Town of La Paz is an "Open Door" children's home. This means that all of our children are here voluntarily. If they ever feel they want to leave, they are free to do so. This happens very seldom, however we want our children to be assured that they are not forced to stay.

We are often asked if our children are available for adoption. They are not. Many of our children have parents or extended families who are currently unable to care for them. There is always hope that the children and their families will one day be reunited.
