The print shop at Boys and Girls Town provides a major portion of our annual budget - up to 50%. We take print jobs from all over the city, everything from business cards to event posters. However, our ability to continue to provide a good product to our customers is hindered by the age and disrepair of our equipment.
Our hope is to replace some of the oldest presses with newer, serviceable, used equipment, and to repair some of the machines that we have not been able to maintain properly because of budget constraints.
To do this, we need a very large sum of money. Currently we are investigating the possibility of a grant from an international foundation to finance this project.
There are also some alternatives. If you or someone you know is connected with a printing company (preferably in California) that is upgrading its equipment and would like to donate a machine to us, we can organize shipment, customs and installation. Equipment donations would help reduce the amount of grant money we need to seek.
