Roof

One of the most important projects at Boys and Girls Town is the roof over the workshops. This includes the roof over the Print Shop as well as the mechanical shop.

Over the years, it has fallen into disrepair, and the damage is now critical. Leaks have appeared all over, especially over the Print Shop. This has affected the Print Shop ceiling, which is now threatening to fall down due to water damage.

In 2007, we received an estimate for the cost of repairing the roof. It came to roughly $55,000 USD. This is clearly more than we can afford. We struggle each month just to meet the basic needs of our kids.

Not only does this damage threaten the safety of our children and employees, but it also threatens our livelihood. If the Print Shop ceiling falls or if the leaks increase, the presses could be damaged, seriously affecting our most important source of income.


We are hoping a benefactor, or group can help us with a large donation so that this crucial area can be fixed before the coming hurricane season.
